
As a member of the select group in the euro zone, Catalonia benefits from the euro and its advantages: stable currency, macroeconomic and price stability, standardised distribution agreements and lower transaction costs and freedom of movement of people, goods, services and capital. As a member of the euro zone, Catalonia also benefits from sustained growth characterised by the absence of macroeconomic imbalances.
Spain has one of the most favourable tax regimes in the world for ETV/holding companies and one of the best tax allowance regimes in the field of research, development and technological innovation for companies worldwide.
Catalonia boasts a stable institutional political system which organises its own self-government, with powers to manage the territory in different areas, such as education, social affairs, transport, determination of the economic policies and commerce. The Catalan Autonomous Government is also responsible for the construction of public institutions, such as hospitals, primary and secondary schools and universities.
