Relevant Events

The Parc Científic de Barcelona (Barcelona Science Complex) is to increase its size to 90,000 square meters in the next three years, with an investment of 111 million euros. The expansion, which represents four times the science park's current size, will increase the presence of pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies, research centers, and specialized services to support innovation projects. The number of experts and professionals working in R&D will also be increased, from 1,500 to 4,000 by 2011. The BCP was created in 1997 by the Universitat de Barcelona to promote innovation and develop biotech companies.
