Dow Chemical to research global water technology in TarragonaAmerican multinational company Dow Chemical is to build a water technology development center at the company's facilities in Tarrragona. The project, which will analize ultrafiltration technologies and the production of clean drinking water from various watersources, will receive an investment of 10 million euros.
Dow Chemical indicated that the center is expected to open at the end of 2009 and will employ 25 researchers, who will have the mission of "reducing production costs of drinking water through technology-based solutions." Dow Water Solutions, a unit of Dow Chemical, had a turnover of 400 million euros in 2007 and is considered a growing business for the company, according to Dow Iberica chairman Anton Valero.
The project has received the support of Catalonia Investment Agency (ACI- ACC1Ó) and the Ministry of Innovation, Universities and Enterprise of the Government of Catalonia
