Relevant Events

Swiss insurance group Zurich is strengthening the operations at its Barcelona center and has announced the appointment of Frenchman Francois Xavier Quilici as its new CEO. The Barcelona facilities, which were established in 2006, serve the European subsidiaries of the group in the field of Information technology. They are located at the 22@ district and are home to 850 professionals (250 employees from Zurich and 600 from subcontractors.)

Zurich also confirmed the importance of Spain as a strategic market for the group. In fact, the group recently increased its presence in Catalonia with agreements to purchase 50% of the insurance businesses of Banc Sabadell and Caixa Sabadell.
