Recent Investments

Food company Casa Tarradellas is to open its fifth plant in Catalonia by year's end, in Gurb (Barcelona).

The new facilities, annunced some months ago, have received an investment of 30 million euros and will create 100 new jobs in addition to the 1,200 workers already working at the plant. The new facility will provide 12,000 square meters and will specialize in the preparation of bread-based dishes, with a strong emphasis on product innovation and formats. The company is a leader in frozen and refrigerated dishes.

Casa Tarradellas also studies the construction of another plant in Olost (Osona) for frozen dishes and meat products, a move that could create between 50 and 100 new jobs. The company ended 2007 with revenue of 510 million euros, up 8.6% compared to the previous year.
