GP Pharm gets 11 million euros for new cancer drugsGP Pharm, a unit of Lipotec group, has secured 11 million euros in funding to continue its activities in the biotechnology industry. The company, which has a market capitalization of 110 million euros, specializes in the development of drugs against cancer, including Octreotida y Paclitaxel, and will begin to market its products in 2009.
Italian pharmaceutical group Sigma Tau participated in the latest round of funding with an investment of 8 million euros, increasing its participation in GP Pharm to 16%. Sigma produces cancer and kidney treatment drugs.
