Business association Foment del Treball, Barcelona's Chamber of Commerce and the Catalan regional government have presented "Industry XXI", a new program to promote the role of the industry in the Catalan economy aiming to improve its public image.

The initiative also wants to spread the importance of industrial activity among younger generations. For that reason, a key element of the new program will be the preparation of activities to reach out to schools. The "Industry XXI" program was presented by Foment del Treball president Joan Rosell; the Chairman of Barcelona's Chamber of Commerce Miquel Valls; and the Catalan Industry Minister Josep Huguet.
