Sharp wants to expand its R&D center in Sant Cugat (Barcelona)Japanese conglomerate Sharp is working on an agreement with the Catalan Government to increase its R&D activities at its Sant Cugat plant, where it currently manufactures liquid crystal displays for TV sets, Catalan Minister Josep Huguet said. The Japanese company also wishes to increase contact with Catalan universities to identify new applications for its technologies, including the use of liquid crystal in the health industry, an area of high growth in Catalonia.
