ACC1Ó-Invest in Catalonia helped to launch 29 investment projects in 2008Catalan government agency Invest in Catalonia ACC1Ó participated in the launch of 29 investment projects in 2008, with an investment volume totaling 377 million Euros. The new businesses created over 1,500 new jobs and helped to maintain 800 additional positions.
Invest in Catalonia is one of ACC1Ó's leading initiatives aiming to attract new national and foreign investments. The agency promotes projects and ideas showing innovation, diversification and a strong added-value for the Catalan economy.
During 2008, ACC1Ó saw a strong growth in investments in areas such as R+D and industry. In fact, industrial initiatives accounted for 86% of all new businesses, with about half of all new projects coming from foreign companies. Europe (24%), America (14%) and Asia (10%) were the regions with the most investments, ACC1Ó said.
