American tour operator Travelzoo has opened its first office for the Spanish market in Barcelona. The company specializes in holiday packages via Internet and it boasts over 15 million subscribers, with 21 offices worldwide. Travelzoo landed in Europe in 2005 with an office in the U.K. Since then, it has also opened branches in Germany, France and now in Barcelona, where it will have a 10-people team. In the first quarter of 2009, the group posted revenue of 23.4 million dollars. Travelzoo has 170,000 registered users in Spain.
