Private sector and cooperation for development

ACC1Ó promotes participation by the private sector as an agent for the generation of development capable of improving living conditions in less favoured countries.

For development cooperation to be considered sustainable, aid recipients must achieve economic independence that allows them to live from the resources generated by the results of their own activity. In order to achieve this, ACC1Ó:

• Organises events and activities to examine the role of the private sector in improving living standards in emerging nations.

• Promotes, runs and co-finances annual grants to encourage Catalan enterprise organisations to contribute their know-how to cooperate with local organisations in emerging economies.
