Success stories in 2010
CUBIGEL COMPRESSORS
Thanks to the support provided by Invest in Catalonia, the former ACC Compressors has successfully overcome the financial problems that put at risk the viability of the plant. In 2010 the company was acquired by American AIAC currently expanding, changing name to Cubigel Compressors.
GOLDBRIDGE BRUDER
The company has established a distribution warehouse of automobile components in La Roca del Valles.
HARIBO
Haribo, the German company engaged in the production of sweets, has focused the world's production of sweets by extrusion in Catalonia, by extending the factory Cornella de Terri.
HENKEL
The German multinational Henkel has installed the first Spanish R & D center of adhesives for materials such as metal. To carry on the project, Henkel has contracted two Catalan research centers, ICIQ and UAB.
IBM
IBM has enlarged its Shared Services Centre of San Fruitós de Bages to increase their services to businesses.
VEEVA SYSTEMS
To be close to their current and potential customers the American company Veeva Systems, a specialist in designing CRM for pharmaceutical companies, has established its European Headquarters in Barcelona.
FAIVELEY
Faiveley, the French multinational specialist in the construction of railway equipment, has reorganised and mantained its subsidiary in la Selva del Camp.
DALLI GROUP
The German chemical company Dalli Group has acquired Henkel production plant in Sant Adria de Besos, thus becoming the first plant of the group in southern Europe.

BRIGHTPOINT EMEA HQ
Brightpoint is the world's leading wireless services provider for production chains in the fields of personalised logistics distribution and services. The company established its regional headquarters and a shared services centre in Cornellà for the EMEA zone with a view to consolidating its processes in around 20 countries.
SYNTHON HISPANIA, SL
The multinational pharmaceutical company Synthon has expanded its Sant Boi de Llobregat plant to diversify its activities incorporating a new manufacturing line for pellets and capsules. This new line will involve intensive use of advanced technologies.
DISALFARM, SA
Bayer, Boehringer-Ingelheim and Novartis pharmaceutical laboratories are participating in a joint venture, which consists of the logistical operation of all their medicines, manufactured worldwide, and distributed in Spain. Invest in Catalonia provided access to funding for the project.
ALDI SUPERMERCADOS, SL
Aldi Supermercats SL established the registered name of the group, a new distribution centre and the purchasing headquarters for Spain in Masquefa (Anoia). This logistics project, one of the most significant investment projects of 2009, means that 75 jobs will be preserved and 200 new ones created.
MERCON COFFEE CORPORATION
Mercon Coffee is a supplier of green coffee for the coffee industry of North America, Europe, Latin America and Asia. The company set up an office in Barcelona for the EMEA market and a coffee laboratory. Good quality training and international schools, as well as the proximity to the port were basic factors when choosing this location.
BF FITNESS INVESTMENTS SL
Netherlands-based company BF Fitness Investments has brought the low-cost model in fitness to Catalonia. It opened a gym in Barcelona and is now expanding with other centres throughout Catalonia.
DP WORLD
The United Arab Emirates company DP World, one of the world's leading port operators, has invested € 100 m in Tarragona, an investment which has consolidated the port's activity and has contributed to its international positioning. In overall terms, the aim of the project is to create direct jobs for over 500 workers and have an indirect impact of 2,000 jobs.
RIPLEG SAU
Ripleg is a plate and soldering machining company. It has made new investments in a baguette vending machine in Ripoll, which constitutes a step forward for the company, which will now be designing, developing and manufacturing its own product.
