Innovation For Welfare
ACC1Ó leads the European

(I4W) programme as part of the INTERREG IV-C Community Initiative (European Regional Development Fund). The participants in this are:
- Catalonia (Spain)
- Lombardy (Italy),
- Noord-Brabant (Netherlands),
- South-West Bohemia (Czech Republic),
- Tartu (Estonia)
- Upper Austria (Austria)
I4W is the continuation of the MATEO programme (Interreg IIIC). Its mission is to promote and finance eight joint technological innovation and development projects aimed at improving personal well-being. These projects will be carried out jointly between the different European regions taking part. The projects seek to develop:
- New medical technologies
- New services and applications using information and communication technologies
- New food formulas (functional foods)
- New types of materials
I4W aims to identify good practice in regional innovation policies with social impact based on the previous experience in this area. The synergies between these good practices and the results of the eight projects should activate new specific programmes to support technological development and innovation with a social impact.
